MoveCast privacy policy

Weather scored for what you do outside.

Last updated 27 August 2026.

The short version

MoveCast has no account, no sign in, and no server of its own. Your activities and the rules you set for them never leave your device.

What stays on your device

Everything you create in the app: your activities, the condition ranges and weights you set for each one, how long you spend on them, the hours you are willing to be out, and your unit and clock preferences. All of it is stored locally. There is nowhere for it to be sent, because MoveCast has no backend.

Location

If you allow it, MoveCast reads your location so it can fetch a forecast for where you are. Weather changes over short distances, so an accurate position gives you an accurate forecast.

Your coordinates are sent to Apple's WeatherKit service to retrieve that forecast, and used nowhere else. They are not stored on any server belonging to MoveCast, are not linked to any identity or account, and are never used for advertising, profiling or tracking. MoveCast keeps the forecast it receives on your device for up to an hour so it does not have to ask again.

You control this in iOS. If you turn Precise Location off for MoveCast in Settings, the app works with the approximate position iOS gives it instead.

Apple's handling of that request is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.

You can refuse location entirely and still use the app: name a city by hand instead, in onboarding or in Settings under Location. Nothing about the app depends on knowing where you are.

What is never collected

No name, no email address, no phone number, no contacts, no photos, no health or fitness records, no advertising identifier, no analytics, no crash reporting, no usage data of any kind. There is no third party SDK in the app.

Tracking

MoveCast does not track you, across other apps or websites or at all.

Children

The app collects nothing, so there is nothing to collect from anybody of any age.

Deleting your data

Delete the app. Everything it held goes with it.
