Common questions

Why does a day score low when the weather looks fine?

MoveCast scores against your rules, not a general idea of nice weather. Open the activity, check its ranges, and the week preview at the top shows the effect of every change straight away.

Why is there no window on a good day?

Every hour of a window has to be inside the hours you allow, and the window has to be long enough for the activity. A three hour hike needs three good hours in a row. Widen the hours or shorten the duration under "About this activity".

It says "Weather unavailable".

The forecast service could not be reached. Pull down to try again. If it persists, check your connection; nothing is wrong with your device or your settings.

Can I use it without sharing my location?

Yes. Tap "Enter manually" during setup, or open Settings then Location, and name any city. Nothing in the app needs to know where you are.

I said no to location and cannot turn it back on.

iOS only asks once. Open the iOS Settings app, find MoveCast, and turn Location on. MoveCast offers a shortcut to that screen wherever it is needed.

How do I get my data out, or delete it?

Everything lives on your device and nowhere else. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
